-The Neillsville Fire Department responded to reports of a barn fire Tuesday afternoon. They received the call at 4:30 of a barn fire at N6385 Highway 73 in the Township of Weston. However, when they arrived, they discovered it wasn’t a barn fire. The owner had been burning some debris around the barn and a passerby had called it in as a barn fire. However, the fire did get out of the circle and some tires caught on fire.
Using 100 gallons of water, the department did extinguish that fire and the owner helped bury it with his tractor. They were on scene for half an hour, there were no injuries and they had asked for assistance from Greenwood and Granton, but it was cancelled in route.
