-The Memorial Medical Center Foundation, BMO Harris Bank, Gesche Funeral Home and Marshfield Monuments have teamed up for a Health Aging Expo being held tomorrow, Wednesday, May 4th, at the Neillsville American Legion from 10am-3pm.I spoke with Shelley Janke, Vice President and Executive Director of the Memorial Medical Center Foundation, and she talked about some of the activities happening at the expo.
"We want to offer something that's fun. This is a great opportunity for us to give back to the community and offer an event that's educational, but that's also a good time for folks. So, throughout the day, we're going to have door prizes given away every half an hour. We'll have a free, little continental breakfast in the morning, free lunch in the afternoon. So, it's going to be on a first come, first serve basis. There will be a lot of little giveaways at each booth. So, people can expect to have a good time as well as learn something."
Shelley said that the expo will provide people with a road map in regards to many different topics.
"There's going to be experts at each booth. So, a lot of times people don't really know, even as they age, what do I need to consider? What are some things that will be important to me as I get older? And so, we're going to provide that road map for folks. Here's what you might need to consider from a legal aspect. Here's what you might need to consider from a medical aspect. Here's what you might need to consider from a financial aspect. So, we really wanted to provide one place where people can get all their answers. They're not going to walk away with everything in a pretty package, but at least they'll know where to start as they plan out for the future."
Once again, the Healthy Aging Expo is being held tomorrow, Wednesday, May 4th, at the Neillsville American Legion from 10am-3pm.
