CDC's Report at Owen City Council Meeting

-The Owen City Council heard the CDC’s report at their meeting last week.Tim Swiggum reported that the OW Chamber Expo had 500-600 visitors and 40 vendors on April 2nd at the Owen Old School gymnasium. Also, Parks & Rec. is presently reviewing the Clark County Outdoor Recreation Plan and will be presented for consideration at the next Council meeting and the Farmer’s Market main vendor will be returning this summer. He also said anyone wanting a plot in the community gardens should call City Hall and the Blue Moon Band has been booked for the Car Show. Finally, an Autumn Fest will possibly be October 15th or 22nd and the DRC also talked about an Owen and Withee neighborhood fix up.
Also, before the council meeting began, a small celebration was given to the three Alderpersons who have come to the end of their term. Certificates were presented to: Melvyn Lorence for 20 years of service; Mary Lynn Kiviko for 6 years of service and Stephen Heggemeier for 1 year of service. They were thanked for their dedication and time sacrificed to be on the Owen City Council.
