Owen-Withee School Board Approves Mental Health Contract with Clark County

-The Owen-Withee School Board approved a mental health contract with Clark County at their meeting last week.Following the presentation done by Guidance Counselor Morgan Mueller earlier in the meeting, the board unanimously approved a contract with Clark County to provide mental health services to their students. The proposal is that the conference room in the elementary and high school will be used for this service. The board also unanimously approved maternity leave for Mrs. Lisa Westaby, who is expecting in late August. The leave request was approved with a return date of September 26th.
Also, for the Administrators’ Reports and agenda items discussed, but no action taken, District Administrator Bob Houts informed the board that through a DOA grant, the District has formed a consortium with Loyal, Greenwood, Neillsville and Spencer to procure funds to provide teacher training in the use of technology. The 5 districts involved are eligible for $40,650 in funding. Due to the late announcement and application period for the grant, the consortium could only come up with $29,626 in expenditures. The grant will continue in the 2016-17 school year and all funds will be used.
