Merrillan Woman Enters Not Guilty Plea to Drug Charges in Jackson County Court

-A Merrillan woman arrested after a shoplifting incident in Black River Falls appeared in Jackson County Court on Monday.According to authorities, they were called to the Kwik Trip in Black River Falls for reports of a woman shoplifting. Police arrived and found 36-year-old Amanda Peters in the bathroom. She tried to give authorities a fake name, but they identified her by her tattoos.
When authorities searched her they also discovered methamphetamine. She was also wanted for other matters in Jackson and Eau Claire Counties. Peters’ has been charged with possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting/obstructing an officer. During her arraignment on Monday, her cash bond was changed to a signature bond and she entered not guilty pleas to the charges against her.
