Representative Bob Kulp's Listening Session in Neillsville, Part 4
Wednesday, April 6th, 2016 -- 9:45 AM
-Representative Bob Kulp appeared in Neillsville for a listening session on Thursday along with his guest Senator Terry Moulton. The two appeared at the American Legion. There were only a few people in attendance, but they covered several topics. Bob and Terry offered their thoughts on the recent Tomah VA Hospital scandal.
Terry: "There's been some really unfortunate things happening there and I know, I sit on the Healthcare Committee in the Senate, I was glad to see that it sounds like that physician who was there, and over prescribing these drugs, has finally had his license revoked. We had a healthcare hearing on appointments to the Medical Examining Board and one of the concerns was what's the examining board going to do with this decision because there was a court case that was going through. But I think I just saw where his license was revoked. But there definitely was a problem there and it is being addressed, but it is a federal issue."
Bob: "I read the news stories, probably, like you do. Now, it's not in my district. It is in Representative Nancy Vandemeer's district and I wish she were here for this question because she's very intimately involved with it and has been kinda heading up things in the Assembly. I don't think she had a specific hearing, but she's there and much more knowledgeable."
Coming up on Thursday, we’ll hear the Representatives and Senators thoughts on different aspects of the Amish community.
