Milwaukee Man Arrested in Marshfield as Part of a Drug Investigation Appears in Court for a Motion Hearing

-A Milwaukee man arrested by the Marathon County Sheriff's Department Special Investigations Unit and Marshfield Police Department as part of a drug investigation appeared in court for a motion hearing on Wednesday.A traffic stop at the end of September of last year resulted in the seizure of approximately eighty grams of high grade Heroin and the arrest of Melvin Dunomes. The Heroin seized amounts to approximately 1,600 doses. The street value of that amount is estimated at $80,000.00.
A $100,000 cash bond was set against him and he remains in the Marathon County Jail. The defense filed two motions prior to Wednesday’s hearing. One was to suppress evidence and the other was to suppress evidence based on an insufficient complaint for a search warrant. The judge denied both motions after hearing testimony and arguments. Dunomes pleaded not guilty during a preliminary hearing and will be back in court in April for a jury trial.
