Committee Reports at Neillsville City Council Meeting

-The Neillsville City Council heard the committee reports, at their meeting last week, from the various meetings held in the city the past couple weeks.They heard the Neillsville Library Board report from their meeting on March 15th. An asbestos test was done in a basement area of the library where they’d like to have a children’s area. No asbestos was found, but they may have lead paint issue. More inspections will be done before any action is taken. They also discussed a senior program, possible fundraisers for adult programs, the internet policy, and a stipend.
They also heard the Historic Preservation Committee report from March 14th. A change of dates and time was agreed upon for the Christmas Tour of Homes, they discussed grants and the Historic Architectural Brochure. Finally, they heard the Fire Hall Board meeting from March 17th. Financial reports were reviewed, the new Smokey Bear sign is hear and the department thanked the public works crew for plowing their driveway. One final item mentioned at the end of the Common Council meeting was in regards to new information kiosks for the city. They will probably be ready to go by May.
