-The Neillsville City Council is moving forward with their assistant clerk-treasurer position. After the resignation of Ellen Clark, Barb Boyer, who was the assistant clerk-treasurer, filled Ellen’s position and the city sent out an ad seeking to fill the assistant position. During a brief Personnel Committee meeting held before the Common Council meeting, the committee decided to move forward with the applications they received and begin setting up interviews rather than trying to advertise again. They will begin that process soon.
The council also approved moving budget appropriations forward. This is money that is earmarked for certain projects, like the Police Department’s K-9 program, and is moved forward from year-to-year. They moved a total of $722,273 forward from various lines of the budget.
Finally, the council approved withdrawing from the Local Government Property Insurance Fund. This fund was initially removed by Governor Walker, but it was later resurrected. However, the resurrection resulted in a 152% increase in premiums.
