Neillsville School Board Approves Bid for New Lunchroom Tables

-The Neillsville School Board approved a bid for new lunchroom tables at their meeting on Monday.The current tables that fold into units on the wall are over 30 years old and have been repaired many times over the years when minor damage occurred. The district decided it was time to replace those tables. They received two bids, one from Alexander Furnishing for $26,517 and the other from Marshfield Book and Stationary for $24,441, which includes the tables and installation. The board approved the lower bid from Marshfield Book and Stationary, which was an added bonus because their unit will fit into the district’s wall units. The tables from the other company would have had to have been modified to fit.
The board also approved an out-of-state field trip for the 6th grade to the Minnesota Science Museum, which they do every year. The board also approved several donations including $2,000 from Shopko for their Communities Give Back Program, Cummins donated hats and gloves, Unity Bank donated mittens and a Neillsville resident donated two large flags to the district.
