Owen-Withee School Board Approves Playground Equipment Project

-The Owen-Withee School Board discussed a playground equipment project at their recent meeting.Elementary Principal Lance Batchelor and Ben Gruetzmacher presented a proposal for replacement of some of the old playground equipment. Much of the older equipment was removed last summer/fall because of safety concerns. The replacement equipment will come from GameTime, Inc. Original cost of the equipment was $43,000, but with discounts, the district will purchase for slightly under $30,000. Again, this was a safety issue identified in the Facilities Audit. The board unanimously approved the funding of this project. A summer install is planned.
The board unanimously approved the agreement with Abbotsford for continuing the Food Service Co-op the district has with Abbotsford, Loyal and Spencer. The sharing of the food service director helps all the districts involved to maintain a high quality food service program while keeping their costs down.
