Greenwood School Board Update

The Greenwood School Board heard the Administrators’, Committee and Board Reports at their meeting on Monday.High School Principal Todd Fischer provided updates on the district’s ongoing curriculum work, a new playground project concept and spring testing schedule for the required state Forward Test. The Color Stampede will be held on Monday May 11th. The Building and Grounds committee met and began developing a priority list for maintenance projects at the elementary and high/middle school. There is a sink hole developing at the elementary school-likely caused by a leak in the roof run-off system and this will be addressed soon.
For the board report, drafts of the Professional Staff and Support Staff handbooks were provided to board members for review and possible edits. A substitute teacher handbook is in development. Board member Mark Shain attended the CESA 10 Board of Control meeting and Mr. Shain, Board Member Pam Delo and District Administrator Todd Felhofer attended a legislative forum in Medford on March 7th. School funding and increasing teacher shortages were among the topics.
