Thursday, March 17th, 2016 -- 12:58 PM
-The Clark County Board of Supervisors approved a resolution making changes to the county employee handbook regarding PTO time and holiday pay.Currently, the county handbook states: “In order to receive holiday pay, employees must work or use planned PTO the scheduled day before and after the holiday.” However, it doesn’t differentiate for injured workers on workmen’s compensation insurance. The resolution added to the handbook: “With the exception of injured employees receiving workmen’s compensation insurance for injuries or disease directly incurred while serving Clark County. The item passed with 21 voting yes and 3 voting no.
The board also approved a resolution recommending Clark County be a regional hub or service center for the new county groups created by the reorganization of the UW-Extension. Because of cuts to the UW-System approved by the Wisconsin Legislature, the UW-Extension is reorganizing into groups consisting of multiple counties being served by service center. Clark County will be grouped with Marathon, Portage and Wood Counties. This resolution will be sent to UW-Extension Chancellor Cathy Sandeen so show the county supports being a hub for the multi-county region.
