Thorp Students Receive Certificates for Competing in CESA 10 Regional Spelling Bee
Saturday, May 1st, 2021 -- 6:50 AM
Several Thorp Middle School students received certificates recently for competing in the CESA 10 Regional Spelling Bee.
Vivian Brown, 7th grade and school spelling bee alternate, and Richelle Raether, 8th grade and school spelling bee champion, both competed in the regional bee. This year's regional bee was done differently where students completed an online test that included two areas: 25 spelling words and an added feature this year of 25 vocabulary words and definitions.
These 50 test questions were chosen from a study list of over 4,000 words in a timed test format to be completed in 30 minutes. Congratulations to these students for their hard work in taking on this challenge.
