Update on Summer School at Greenwood School Board Meeting

-The Greenwood School Board heard an update on the Summer School Session being held this summer.High School Principal Todd Fischer stated there are new courses and a change in the schedule will allow students to take up to 3 classes per morning. It was also stated that the high school schedule for 2016-17 is nearing completion. However, some individual schedules need to be reworked and they are also looking to address imbalanced classes.
The board heard an update regarding staffing for the next school year. The district is likely to reduce a position at the elementary school and the board was also provided time line reminders regarding non-renewal and issuance of letters of employment for staff. District Administrator Todd Felhofer and Jeanie Zimmer are reviewing the next school year’s budget. They are going line-by-line as the build the 2016-17 budget.
Finally, a discussion was held on the referendum. Three public information meetings have been completed, two district mailers have gone to all district residents and they’ll put out a reminder to vote in the days right before the April 5th election.
