Wednesday, March 16th, 2016 -- 10:08 AM
-The Clark County Board of Supervisors approved a resolution fixing the salary of some of the county’s elected officials.Wisconsin State Statute requires that the County Board fix the salary of elected officials up for re-election before their nomination papers are filed. In this case, the County Clerk, Treasurer and Register of Deeds are up for re-election in November, so the salary needed to be fixed before they filed their papers next month.
For 2017, the Clerk will receive $59,534.09; the Treasurer will receive $60,745.33; and the Register of Deeds will receive $55,485.49. The amounts vary depending on how long someone has been in that position and they’ll receive a .75% increase over the next four years. With 24 present and 5 absent at the meeting, the resolution was approved 22 to 2.
