CDC's Report at Owen City Council Meeting

-The Owen City Council heard the CDC’s report at their meeting on Tuesday of last week.Tim Swiggum reported that the OW Chamber is busy preparing for an Expo they will be sponsoring on April 2nd at the Owen Old School gymnasium. The Expo will also include a job fair with several employers already attending including Manpower. The Heritage Room will be open during the Expo. Also, the Clark County Economic Development Corporation is planning for their Annual meeting with guest speaker Stephanie Klett, Secretary of Department of Tourism.
The Owen Area Development Corporation held a meeting with the Withee Village President, Owen’s Mayor and Tim regarding the revolving loan fund and invited the Village of Withee to participate by donating and allowing businesses from both communities to apply for loans. The DRC also asked if the Owen banners could get put up soon.
Finally, the Car Show is planned for August 20th, the Community Gardens will be advertised soon, a resident is inquiring about having a bee hive on his property and that decision has not been made yet and the DRC is looking for more vendors for the Farmers Market.
