Re-Allocation of Police Department Funds at Owen City Council Meeting

-The Owen City Council approved the re-allocation of some Police Department Funds.The council approved Resolution #2016-11 for re-allocation of 2015 funds of $2,021 from Police Dept. Gas and Oil to account Outside Services. The council also heard the department’s report. One resident asked why the Police Officers went to an indoor shooting range and why a large amount of ammunition was purchased. Mayor Nelson explained the difference between practice ammo and duty ammo.
The council also heard the Public Works Report. The Public Works Director reported on a Ponds and Lagoons training he, and two others, attended in Ladysmith. A temporary liquor license was also approved for the Owen-Withee Area Chamber and the council also approved the denial of an operator’s license.
