Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Rebecca Bradley Still Receiving Heat for Anti-Gay Column
Wednesday, March 9th, 2016 -- 8:15 AM
(AP) -An anti-gay column Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Rebecca Bradley wrote when she was a college student in 1992 drew a torrent of negative responses from fellow students at Marquette University back then.Bradley's column criticizes newly elected president Bill Clinton and calls homosexuals "queers," comparing them to "degenerate drug addicts." An Associated Press review of the Marquette Tribune's archives reveals the paper published 15 responses to the column, all but three criticizing it. She also wrote a piece about abortion calling it the “holocaust of our children.”
Self-professed liberals and conservatives alike called it brainless, bigoted, racist and homophobic. Others likened her opinions to Nazism. Bradley has apologized repeatedly since the column was unearthed on Monday as she runs for a full 10-year term on the Supreme Court.
