Three Clark County Fire Departments Merging

-Three Clark County Fire Departments will be merging together.On Monday, the Abbotsford City Council voted to dissolve their Abbotsford Fire Department and merge with the Colby and Dorchester Fire Department. They will become the United Seven Fire District. According to city officials, this will save the city money in the long run including $12,000 initially for the City of Abbotsford.
Opponents of the decision say that it will hurt taxpayers and that Abbotsford residents want to have their own fire department. Supporters say it will save the city money and give their current firefighters a bigger system to work with. The United Seven Fire District will be run by volunteers with a paid chief.
