Red Cross Blood Drive in Neillsville Collects 75 Pints of Blood

Thursday, March 3rd, 2016 -- 10:49 AM

-The Red Cross Blood drive held at the Neillsville American Legion collected 75 pints of life saving blood.

Appreciation is extended to the many caring donors and volunteers within the community. Because of them, the American Red Cross was able to collect enough blood to save the lives of over 225 patients in need.

Of those giving blood, 18 gallons were obtained by William Poeschel, 12 by Michael Hart, 8 by Vicada Schlinsog, 7 by Donna Wagner, James Ivanski and Carol Pedersen, 6 by Randy Barth, 5 by Melanie Bobac, 4 by Adin Stutzman, 2 by Ervin Borntrager and Sandra Piskow and 1 by Jeremiah Rakovec. First time donors were Aaron and Felty Borntrager. Six Cummins Filtration employees also donated blood or worked as volunteers at the drive. Winners of two $20 gift cards, donated by the American Legion, were Ralph Johnson and Steven Brey.
