Marshfield Man Enters Plea for Sexually Assaulting a Child

-A Marshfield man entered a plea for sexually assaulting a child on Monday.According to court records, 34-year-old Rafael Ruiz pleaded guilty to a charge of repeated sexual assault of the same child and second degree sexual assault of a child. Five other charges were dismissed and read in.
The incidents that resulted in the charges date back to 2011 and 2014. Ruiz gained some notoriety back in 2009 when he won a $1 million Powerball jackpot. A sentencing date has not been set at this time and his court proceedings are occurring in Marathon County Court.
