Owen City Council Hears Updates on Projects

-The Owen City Council heard an update on about the city's lift station 1 at their meeting last week.It was stated that a new structure will not have to be built and will reuse the existing structure which will save money. The best time to do this project is in December to January when it is relatively a drier season. The council also heard an update on the East 4th Street Project. With the project, it was discussed with the Rail Road and they requested that the City consider removing one of the remaining sidewalk crossings. MSA recommends the South sidewalk be closed and the council approved the removal of the south sidewalk.
Finally, during the public opinion portion of the meeting, one resident asked when Police Discipline Commission meets, another asked why police department bills have been questioned by the Council and why E. 10th Street has not been completed and questioned the city's spending priorities. Finally, a third resident asked why the Police Policies were not approved at the last meeting.
