Public Works Report at Neillsville City Council Meeting

-The Neillsville City Council heard the Public Works Report during the Public Works portion of the meeting on Tuesday.The usual amount of work was done in the city including equipment maintenance, parks and cemetery maintenance, hauling brush and compost, picked up branches, snow and ice removal, opened storm drains, removed dead trees and more. They also installed LED bulbs on Hewett Street, only on the decorative poles. They repaired a water main beak on Willow Street on Friday as well.
The council also heard the Heritage Days Committee report from February 18th. They discussed the Miss Neillsville Program, new staging, food booths, the pub crawl, bands and security. They also decided to make Unity Bank and Gross Motors as Gold Sponsors and Kwik Trip as a Platinum Sponsor.
Finally, they heard some minor updates on the Fire Department's new emergency vehicle, MMC's latest financial report, which was very good, a recent county tourism meeting and Neillsville's TIF District #2 was finally accepted as distressed.
