(Jonathan Anderson, Marshfield News Herald) -An $8 million apartment complex with more than 130 units will be built near Marshfield High School by the end of next year.Green Bay developer Nicolet Lumber plans to construct 11 apartment buildings on a 22-acre site near East Emerald Street and North Hume Avenue, according to City Administrator Steve Barg. Each building will have 12 apartment units, all of which will have their own outside entrances. They are likely to have two bedrooms each, Barg said. Nicolet Lumber will build 72 units this year and 60 in 2017.
As part of an agreement with the developer, the city will rebuild part of and extend Hume Avenue, which is likely to cost about $650,000. That agreement requires the project to have an assessed value of not less than $8.4 million. Nicolet Lumber is the same developer that built a new apartment complex on Heritage Drive. Construction was completed last year on the complex, which has about 80 apartments.
