(Mitchell Skurzewski, Marshfield News Herald) -Downtown business want more events like Third Tuesdays and Small Business Saturday to bring more attention and traffic to the core shopping district.According to the Marshfield News Herald, Main Street Marshfield's board and executive director Angie Eloranta met this week to discuss new initiatives to boost local business and to communicate different ways to increase foot traffic downtown. Eloranta said many of the attendees hoped for a way to expand on the success of the two summer events that helped provide promotion for the businesses.
One emphasis businesses wanted to get across was having more retail events like Third Tuesdays and Small Business Saturday, but those events only have taken place in the summer. Eloranta said businesses are hoping for events in other seasons as well and suggested events including a spring sidewalk sale with entertainment.
