Great Opportunity for Students Interested in the Medical Field from Memorial Medical Center and the Lake Erie College of Osteopa

Monday, February 15th, 2016 -- 11:09 AM

-Memorial Medical Center and the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine are hosting an Open House at the Neillsville High School on Thursday, February 18th starting at 6:30pm.

Neillsville was one of only a few locations chosen to host this event and other hosts were big cities. Mr. Neville explained.

"LECOM, as they're trying to attract more high school students to their school in Erie, Pennsylvania, is doing regional nights like this in much larger cities such as Chicago, New York and out west in Denver. And I find it to be a wonderful opportunity that as they're doing about 5 or 6 of these nationally, Neillsville, Wisconsin is right up there on their list as an opportunity to find some great future students for their program."

Mr. Neville talked about the guest speakers from LECOM that will be at the event.

"Kathy Zboyovski will be here. She is their Academic Early Acceptance Program Coordinator. And Dr. Shabloski will be here who is a professor at LECOM and also oversees the clinical site program that they have as far as medical students that will be coming to MMC to further their training."

You do need to register for the event and Mr. Neville explained how you can do that.

"Please call, 715-743-8454 or you can use the [email protected] e-mail or just call the hospital and ask for Ryan Neville. All of us will find a way to get you the information and we're hoping for a nice turnout and we're hoping that students in our area get a jump start on their future."

Once again that event is happening this Thursday at the Neillsville High School starting at 6:30pm and all students must be accompanied by an adult.
