Owen-Withee School Board Approves 2016-17 School Year Calendar

-The Owen-Withee School Board approved their calendar for the next school year at their meeting on Monday.The 2016-2017 District calendar was presented to the board in January and then released to the staff for review. Other than some editorial changes, the calendar was not altered. The board unanimously approved the 2016-17 calendar which is now posted on the District's website.
The board continued their discussion of the facilities audit done by CESA 10. The Buildings and Grounds Committee met in January to look at priorities and make suggestions for completion this year. A plan to do an energy exemption levy of $100,000 each year for 10 years was derailed by the cost of doing a small project every year.
The suggestion by consultants was that the District borrow a larger amount and pay if off over the 10 year period. This will reduce the consultation costs associated with the performance contract that is required for Act 32 (Energy Exemption) expenditures. The Buildings and Grounds will meet again to discuss.
