School Calendar, Administrators' Reports and More at Neillsville School Board Meeting

-It was a short meeting for the Neillsville School Board on Monday evening.The board approved the 2016-17 school calendar as presented and they approved the summer school classes for 2016 including the southeast Wisconsin/Chicago trip for the Middle School students. They also approved the resignation of Mike Collins from his teaching assistant position. The board heard the Administrators' Reports at their meeting as well. Elementary Principal Tim Rueth reported on attendance, February 10th and March 9th being scheduled late start dates, February 25th is parent teacher conferences, there's no school February 26th because of parent teacher conferences, the eParenting Newsletter was mentioned, February 3rd was the school wide Spelling Bee, February 29th is the Child Development Fair and March 4th is the 5th Grade musical.
High School Principal Craig Anderson reported on attendance, gave a scheduling update, March 9th is the Academic Letter Ceremony, gave an open campus update, February 14th is National FFA week and February 29th through March 2nd is the Annual Middle School Spirit Week. Finally, District Administrator John Gaier reported on the Fab Lab Grant application, a new law affecting school board vacancies, an announcement from the WERC, a scholarship, the Rural Wisconsin Initiative and two Focus articles.
