Memorial Medical Center Releases Statement in Regards to Former Employee Charged with Sexual Assault

Monday, February 8th, 2016 -- 11:45 AM

-Memorial Medical Center has released a statement on the Clark County District Attorney's charges against a former employee, 42-year-old Randy Magnus of Neillsville, who was charged with sexual assault last week.

The statement reads: "Upon learning of these allegations at the end of July from the Neillsville Police Department, Memorial Medical Center began its own internal investigation and cooperated with the Neillsville Police Department as they led their investigation. As of August of 2015, Randy Magnus is no longer an employee of Memorial Medical Center and we continue to cooperate with authorities. As always, we continue to take patient safety seriously at Memorial Medical Center and want to assure the community that our patients are, and will always be, our number one priority." -- Ryan Neville, CEO of Memorial Medical Center.

Magnus was employed as a male nurse at Memorial Medical Center and has been charged with 2 counts of 2nd degree sexual assault of an intoxicated victim and 2 counts of 2nd degree sexual assault of an unconscious victim for two separate incidences. In the first, he denied having any contact with the victim and, in the second, he stated the victim initiated the contact. He'll be in court next week for his initial appearance.
