-The Owen City Council heard a report from the Director of Public Works at their meeting on Tuesday of last week. The CMOM, or Capacity Management Operation Maintenance, report was presented to the Council by Director of Public Works Erik Stinson. The CMOM is a requirement by the WDNR and should be updated on a regular basis.
Finally, they heard the CDC's Report. Tim Swiggum reported the DNR wants Marvin Matejka, owner of the OMI Building, to get started on the contamination clean-up. The United Communities of Clark County was hosted by Owen back in January at the Woodland Hotel. They discussed the Clark County Communications System being considered for replacement. It can be upgraded to an analog system for $2 million which would last 5-10 years or it can all be replaced by a brand new digital system for $4 million which would last 20-30 years. The UCC recommends to the County to do the digital system replacement.
