Neillsville Chamber of Commerce Annual Recognition Banquet, Part 3

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2016 -- 11:34 AM

-The Neillsville Chamber of Commerce held their Recognition Banquet on Saturday evening at the Neillsville American Legion.

The winner of the Spotlight Award was Kay Weirauch. Deanna Heiman, the award presenter, explained some of Kay's many wonderful accomplishments.

Deanna: "It would be a false statement to stay that Kay Weirauch retired from her long time position as 2nd grade teacher at the School District of Neillsville. Kay continues to make a positive, lasting impression on the youth in Neillsville and beyond. Even participating in a mission at St. Mary's which supports school children in Uganda, Africa."

"Kay volunteers are time with the Junior Achievement Program and teaches incarcerated adults at the local jail to read. With a love for animals, she spends a significant amount of time at the Clark County Humane Society and teaches kids to be responsible by taking them along to care for the critters there."

"If you stop by the Memorial Medical Center Gift Shop, you will witness Kay's organizational talents and flair for style as she serves as the Assistant Manager. Her love of children is unconditional. Her kindness is immeasurable. And her positive impact on this community is indelible."

True to her character, Kay was honored by the award, but also thanked many people that help her with her many activities.

Kay: "Thank you very much. It's very much. There's a lot of people out there who help me all the time. They help make it a much easier job. Thank you very much!"

Coming up on Thursday, we'll hear from the Agri-Business of the Year Award winner.
