Owen City Council Approves Election Workers

-The Owen City Council approved their new election workers at their meeting last week.Owen City Clerk Terri Ernst reported that there has been a good response in recruiting more election workers and thanked anyone who had a hand in that. The council also met Garrett Nix an Attorney for Weld Riley. William Thiel, the former attorney who has retired, gave the city a good recommendation for Garrett. Garrett is from Osseo all his life and he will be working for the City as their new Municipal Attorney.
They council also approved a handful of 2015 budget amendments including the purchase of 2015 Squad for $7,029.93, the purchase of Police radio batteries for $262.88, the purchase of two Police rifles for $314.46, the purchase of two Police Medical Bags for $418.00, the purchase of two Public Works Street Signs for $654.70, the purchase of supplies for Urban Forestry for $917.55, the purchase of supplies From Library Gates Grant for $813.64, the purchase of supplies from Celebrations for $140.00 and they approved the End Of Year Fund Balance 2015 for the amount of $608,291.62 and to re-allocate $10,000 from Sewer UT to General Fund PW Truck.
