Clark County Economic Development Corporation and the Village of Granton celebrated the grand opening of a new independent senior living facility in Granton.
The new facility, known as The Burrow, received a grant from the Red Letter Grant Program, which provides funding and support to women entrepreneurs in the state.
Joye Eichten, the Village of Granton’s Clerk, unveiled an independent senior living facility in the rural community allowing the aging population to stay in town vs. moving to bigger places like Neillsville or Marshfield.
According to the Red Letter Grant, what stood out was Joye's passion to provide a space for folks to grow old together. It was a true family affair between the manual labor of Joye and her husband Doug to their kids who pitched in to help design the website, brochures and business cards.
What they couldn't do themselves, they utilized the hands and hearts from the region. All materials were sourced from the Granton area, from the cabinets to countertops, they wanted those dollars to stay in the pockets of Clark County folks.
Eichten used the $2,000 grant she received from RLG to have the cabinets made for the kitchen. Eichten took what was a former state boy's home that had been shutdown and reimagined the space into a service deeply needed in her community.
The Burrow also just unveiled there website, visit and learn more here https://www.theburrowgranton.com/
