(WSAW) -A unanimous vote, Tuesday night, by the Marshfield city council has pushed the option of building a new hospital, one large step forward.City Administrator, Steve Barg, says seven council members voted in favor of the plan commission's recommendations. Three members abstained from voting, citing conflicts of interest with relatives working at the hospital.
Last Tuesday, the city's plan commission approved two conditional use permits for the $175 million facility. According to city documents, the proposed hospital will have 202 beds. It's scheduled to be built on Marshfield Clinic's existing east wing along North Oak Avenue.
