Unity Man Sentenced for Barricading Himself and Two Young Girls in a Bedroom

-A man accused of barricading himself in a bedroom with two young girls while armed with a knife was sentenced in Marathon County Court on Wednesday.The girls with Ben Chapa of Unity were 7 and 10 years old. Sheriff's deputies forced their way into the home because they believed the girls were in imminent danger. Chapa was found guilty of, due to a no contest plea, false emergency 911 call, disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property. Two false imprisonment charges were dismissed and read in. He was sentenced to 9 months in jail. Chapa was also sentenced for another case involving drug charges. He was sentenced to 4.5 years of jail and 5 years of extended supervision for manufacturing/delivering heroin 2nd offense as a repeater.
