Owen City Council Approves Several Items at their Meeting Last Week

-The Owen City Council approved an obligation being fulfilled in regards to a city property at their meeting last week.Pictures were presented by the Police Department of a property at 319 E. 2nd Street. The property owner has fulfilled his agreement to take care of the non-compliance areas he was notified about back in October 2015. The council approved the repairs made to the property and that the owner's obligation has been fulfilled.
The Director of Public Works reported the ice skating rink is ready. A water main broke on Altenburg. Christmas decorations have been taken down and trees are being picked up. Finally, the council approved to drop the rent of some farm land to $150 from $200 per acre for 2016 and 2017 to Royce Wallenhorst. After 2 years the property will go out on bids.
