Annual Report of Officers at Neillsville City Council Meeting, Part 2
Monday, January 18th, 2016 -- 10:30 AM
-The Neillsville City Council not only heard the monthly Report of Officers at their meeting on Tuesday, but the Annual Report of Officers as well.Continuing with 2015's number compared to the previous two years, there were 148 ordinance citations issued compared to 84 in 2014 and 121 in 2013. There were 288 adult arrests compared to 139 in 2014 and 86 in 2013. And finally, there were 421 parking citations for 2015 compared to 2014's 511 and 2013's 458, so that category decreased for the last year compared to the two prior.
Some other notes, 2015 had 816 service calls, but they weren't tracked separately the previous two years. Service calls are items like a vehicle lock out, something that doesn't relate directly to an officer's crime fighting role. Also, traffic warnings were not tracked separately in 2013 and 14 so they couldn't be compared to 2015's 1,210. There was also a substantial increase in traffic citations issued, from 219 in 2013, 216 in 2014, all the way up to 816 in 2015. That increase was attributed to the department's involvement in campaigns like "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over."
