Employment Matters at the Granton School Board Meeting

-The Granton School Board approved some employment matters at their meeting on Monday.The board approved the revised job description for the Maintenance Director/Lead custodian. They also approved a contract for Andrew Radloff who was hired to teach middle school and D'Anne La Savage who was hired as a long term substitute for Business Education. The school board accepted the resignation of Melany Paulson from Food Service.
The board reviewed a preliminary draft of the 2016-2017 School Calendar and they'll take action on the calendar at their meeting in February. The summer school dates received approval from the school board. First Session Summer School runs from June 1- 24 and second session will run August 15-19. Granton Principal Rhonda Opelt reviewed next year's course description book with the school board and, upon a vote, the board approved the 2016-2017 Secondary Course Description Book.
Finally, Ms. Opelt and Mr. Pankratz presented information on the DPI Fab Lab Grant of $30,000 which would enable the district to purchase 21st Century equipment for the Technology Department. The School Board supported the grant and approved the district's financial participation in the Grant.
