Friday, January 8th, 2016 -- 8:05 AM

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -The USDA reports that Wisconsin's dairy plants continue to make history by producing more cheese products each month than the same period a year prior for 14 straight months.

The latest dairy product summary by USDA notes that Wisconsin produced 251.8 million pounds of cheese in November, which was up 4.0 percent from November 2014, but 4.5 percent less than this past October.

Nationally, 976 million pounds of cheese was produced in the United States. That was 0.6 percent more than the same month last year, but 2.2 percent less than the previous month's production totals, which had more days on the calendar.
