Colby Woman Charged With 5th OWI Requests Lower Bond

Thursday, January 7th, 2016 -- 10:00 AM

-A Colby woman, who was charged with her 5th OWI 2015's Halloween weekend, appeared in Marathon County Court on Wednesday.

According to authorities, around 2am on Sunday, November 1st, 44-year-old Wendy Fremming was found in a ditch near Highway 29 in Stettin. She allegedly told police that she had been drinking and drank one more before police showed up because she knew she was going to jail anyway. Her preliminary breath test came in at .188.

Fremming has been charged in Marathon County Court with 5th offense OWI, operating a vehicle with a revoked license and failure to install an ignition interlock device. Her other OWI convictions go back to 1996, 2001 and 2 and 2012. During a motion hearing on Wednesday, Fremming requested a lower bond which was initially set as a $5,000 cash bond. The court agreed to the request and changed it to a $5,000 signature bond. She'll be back in court in February.
