Neillsville Police Warning Of Suspicious Person
Wednesday, December 30th, 2015 -- 8:41 AM
The Neillsville Police Department is asking area citizens to be aware of a suspicious person. On Sunday, December 27th, the subject, identified as Micheal Gerber of Minnesota, was in the City of Neillsville claiming to be a door-to-door salesman. The Neillsville Police Department received three separate complaints on him between 5:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. on this date.
One resident reported Gerber claimed to be selling Glade air fresheners. Another resident reported Gerber claimed he was taking a survey on household products. A third resident reported Gerber said he was selling Kirby vacuum cleaners door-to-door. None of these residents purchased anything and nothing was stolen from them so no crime was committed.
A Neillsville officer talked with Gerber and advised he needed a permit to sell products door-to-door. He was warned to stop until he obtained the proper permit. As of Tuesday, December 29th, Gerber has no permit to sell anything door-to-door in the City of Neillsville. We believe Gerber has since left the Neillsville area, but if he has not, please be aware his door-to-door sales are suspicious and likely fraudulent. Gerber has a lengthy criminal history out of Minnesota.
