Committee Reports at Neillsville City Council Meeting

-The Neillsville City Council heard the committee reports at their meeting last week.The council heard the report from the Fire Hall Board meeting held on December 10th. They discussed the 2016 budget, the new Smoky Bear sign and the generous donation from the Listeman Foundation for their new rescue van. The board received $25,000 from the foundation and they'll get an additional $25,000 over the next four years. They also heard the report from the Personnel Committee meeting held on December 16th. This was the meeting where the employment matters approved during the council meeting were first brought up, approved and pushed to the council.
The final report they heard was from the Commission on Economic Development meeting held on December 16th as well. This meeting is the one that approved the grant request for the purchase of the Sunburst Youth Homes building and it was pushed to the council. Finally, it was mentioned that many businesses in Neillsville said they saw an increase in foot traffic during the Tour of Homes held during the beginning of December.
