Officer Involved Shooting in Marshfield

Monday, December 28th, 2015 -- 11:25 AM

-There was an officer involved shooting in Marshfield on Friday.

According to authorities, 23-year-old Jerry Lavell, of Marshfield, tried to enter his ex-girlfriend's apartment building. Lavell had threatened to come to her apartment even though he had a domestic abuse injunction ordering him to stay away from her. He had been released from prison that day.

When police arrived he was no longer at the apartment, but he was found a short distance away and he ran from the authorities when they tried to speak with him. When he was located again, he stated he had a gun and was going to kill himself. He continued to run and went back to his ex-girlfriend's apartment building.

Eventually, two bean bag projectiles were fired at him and he surrendered. When they searched him, they didn't find any weapons. He was taken back to the Wood County Jail.
