Marshfield Man Identified In Auburndale Crash

The Wood County Sheriff's Department has identified the Marshfield man killed Thursday when he was hit by a train in Auburndale.According to the Marshfield News Herald, Danni Zapet Cruz, 30, died Thursday after the truck he was driving south on George Avenue crossed the railroad tracks and was hit by an eastbound Canadian National train. Cruz was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident occurred around 7:17 a.m. on George Avenue, south of Highway P.
The railroad tracks at this location are controlled by a stop sign. Marshfield Ambulance, Wisconsin State Patrol and Auburndale Fire Department responded to the accident. The incident is under investigation by the sheriff's department.
