Employment Matters and Administrators' Reports at Neillsville School Board Meeting

-The Neillsville School Board approved some employment matters and heard the Administrators' Reports at their meeting on Monday.

The board approved a Memorandum of Understanding with Jan Shilts, approved the hiring of Cody Friemoth for a middle school wrestling coach position and approved the initial adoption of Policy JECB.

Elementary Principal Tim Rueth reported on attendance, Dec. 21st was the Elementary Christmas concert, there's no school Dec. 24th ? Jan. 3rd, there's a late start Jan. 13th and on Jan. 20th there will be the King Arthur Flour "Learn, Bake, Share" program for grades 4-7. He also stated that on Jan. 12th they'll begin an eParenting newsletter via email and teaming up with UW Extension to give parents ways to use technology with their children, on Feb. 3rd ? Grades 4-8 will start the Spelling Bee, he gave a reminder for families to dress for snow and the Elementary School webpage is updated daily.

High School Principal Craig Anderson reported on attendance, Dec. 7th was the Winter band concert for grades 6-12, Dec 20th was the Winter choral concert, an FCCLA grant was awarded to two NHS students, the 2016-2017 school year scheduling will begin in January and events are on the activities calendar on the district homepage. Finally, District Administrator John Gaier reported on two thank you notes, the expansion of broadband in Neillsville, an email regarding initiatives to support area businesses with high quality employees, an update on new federal legislation, handrails for the fieldhouse bleachers, the new IRS 1095-C form and four Focus articles.
