Taylor County Authorities Warning Residents About Man Impersonating an Officer

-The Taylor County Sheriff's Office and the Medford Police Department want people to be aware of an individual posing as a cop.There have been two occasions where a white male in this 30's and about 6 feet tall with dark hair and some facial hair stopped people. He was in a dark colored vehicle with red and blue grill lights. He was wearing plain clothes in the first incident and a uniform with no markings in the second.
There was no specific age or gender of person targeted by the man. He told them why he pulled them over and let them go after a minor conversation. At this time, authorities are just alerting citizens so they are aware of the situation. If stopped by a suspicious individual, you should ask for their identification and department number so you can call and verify. This does not give any justification for not stopping for law enforcement at all as that is against the law.
