Administrators' Reports at Greenwood School Board

Monday, December 21st, 2015 -- 10:21 AM

-The Greenwood School Board heard the Administrators' Reports at their meeting last week.

District Administrator Todd Felhofer stated that the NEOLA policy is well underway. Draft policies will be available after the first of the year. A process for review, revision, and adoption will be developed. He also stated that he was looking to develop and implement some promotional options to market the school district during the Open Enrollment period Feb-April of 2016.

He also provided some updates and potential impact on the district regarding proposed legislation. There's a Public hearing December 17 in Madison on referenda bill limiting local school district ability to go to referendum, No Child Left Behind is now gone and has been replaced by the Every Student Succeeds Act and there is still a great deal of discussion and debate regarding transgender students access to restrooms and locker rooms.

Finally, High School Principal Todd Fischer provided an update on continuing curriculum work, an encore presentation of the Educational Alphabet Soup meeting is planned for late January or early February. The elementary school winter concert was Friday, December 18th at 1:30 pm in the West Gym at the high school and many fun events are planned for students across the district on December 23rd.
