Owen Man Sentenced for Sexual Assault

An Owen man was sentenced for sexual assault charges in Clark County Court on Friday.

According to court records, Mathew Balich was accused of assaulting a gas station worker on May 8th of last year.  Balich said he had a few drinks, it was a bad night, and he never meant to hurt anybody’s feelings.

Earlier this year, he pleaded guilty to 2nd degree sexual assault/use of force and false imprisonment.  Several other charges were dismissed and read in.  Balich was sentenced to 3 years of prison and 4 years of extended supervision.
