(Jonathan Anderson, Marshfield News Herald) -Marshfield Clinic will get to take part in a lawsuit that could affect its plans to provide hospital services in the city of Marshfield next year.A Wood County judge ruled Thursday that Marshfield Clinic can intervene in a suit Ministry Health Care filed against the city. The decision, in essence, means Marshfield Clinic gets to participate in the legal proceedings and would be able to appeal any decision, even though it initially was not a part of the case.
Ministry sued the city's Zoning Board of Appeals in October, challenging how the city approved building permits for renovation work to convert part of Marshfield Clinic into a hospital. Ministry owns Saint Joseph's Hospital, the only hospital in Marshfield.
